From September 26th to November 13th, 2019, KIWAY successively shipped 3 machines of Underfloor Wheel Lathe, which are for the projects of Tianshui tram, Gaoming tram, and Shenyang Metro Line 10 .

 At present, 3 equipments are successively completing the follow-up work according to the on-site power-on conditions. Among them, the Gaoming tram project has entered the repair and precision debugging stage. Our Service Team will continue to maintain a high level and efficiency service purpose to complete the Installation and commissioning.

SCULFORT keeps going deep into the tram market

Modern trams are an indispensable system in the development of modern rail transit. After the custom-made Underfloor Wheel Lathe for Zhuhai trams project came into service, the Underfloor Wheel Lathe of Sculfort has continuously accumulated experience and gained the favor of more customers. At present, the Tianshui and Gaoming trams are about to be put into use. And we has recently reached cooperation with the project of Wenshan tram and Kunming Changshui International Airport tram, providing high-quality products and efficient services for more projects.

At present, there are many major technical platforms for modern trams in China, such as the Alstom, Bombardier, and the independent R&D vehicles of CRRC. There are  many types of vehicles with different clamping methods in the market. Therefore, as a pioneer in maintaining the smooth and safe operation of the vehicles, our Underfloor Wheel Lathe should be individually customized based on this instead of the single adaption to the vehicles.

Due to the large differences in the structure of the bogies, the elastic wheels are small and the volume is mostly supported by the clamping, the tram and the subway project are quite different in the customization of the Underfloor Wheel Lathe. This requires us to restructure each project that requires a custom-designed clamping machanism in a limited changeable space, taking into accounts all the details, so that the owner can use it more conveniently in the future. This not only requires more attention in design for engineers, but also test the technical capabilities of the manufacturers.

In order to adapt the underfloor wheel lathe to different types of vehicle, KIWAY offers the customized designs for different vehicle types. Besides, most mechanisms of the SCULFORT underfloor wheel lathe have a modular design and the machine’s interface has been reserved. We will provide more options for customers’ increasing needs, and our subsequent oweners can change the type of vehicles by adding practical modules.
